JOB TITLE : Area Development Director, Boston

JOB DESCRIPTION :
UNCF seeks an Area Development Director (ADD) to lead its Boston Area Office. The ADD is responsible for planning and conducting comprehensive, cost-effective annual fundraising campaigns with a focus on various sources including individuals, corporations, foundations and workplace groups.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
The individual will be responsible for developing solicitation proposals for donors and prospects, designing and implementing special fundraising events, identifying, cultivating and maintaining and/or re-establishing relationships with current or lapsed donors. The ADD is also responsible for establishing and maintaining close, direct contact with local community, church and civic leaders to ensure top volunteer leadership.
 
REQUIREMENTS :
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university, Master's desired; with a minimum of seven to ten years of fundraising, sales/marketing or public relations experience. Must be familiar with and have established contacts in the Boston Metro Area.
 
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS :
Demonstrated ability in conducting major fundraising activities, including capital campaigns and annual giving drives; experience cultivating, recruiting and managing donor relationships at the $25,000+ level; excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills; the ability to set objectives, lead, motivate and manage staff and volunteers; excellent human relations skills; initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision and to handle multiple, simultaneous activities and priorities.
