| Description: | The UNCF Walk for Education is a 5K Walk and Certified Run. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. on 2nd and Wisconsin Avenue and ends at the Lakefront at Veterans Park. This year’s theme, "Bridging the gap between hope and change" sums up the reason for the whole community to come together in support of our young people. Registration is $25 for adults, $15 for students and $10 for children 12 and under. Your registration includes a t-shirt, food and entertainment. There are many ways you can participate: Form a team, join an existing team, register as an individual walker or runner. If you don’t want to walk or run just register get your t-shirt and join us in welcoming the walkers and runners to the post race events at Veterans Park. A little means a lot. Get 10 family members, friends and co-workers to sponsor you by donating $10. Not only will you be helping a great cause, you will be eligible for prizes as well. Keep in mind that no donation is too small. The smallest donations, when combined, will provide needed opportunities for our young people.
