Scholarship Detail: |
The need for scholarship support among African American students is especially acute today. Despite the success of UNCF colleges in controlling tuition increases, the full cost of going to college remains beyond the reach of many families. To help fill this gap among UNCF students, the Altria Group, Inc. in partnership with UNCF, has made available 24 "last dollar" scholarships for students with a permanent residence from the Commonwealth of Virginia attending a UNCF member college or university with a minimum GPA of 2.75. These scholarship awards will be distributed during the 2009-10 academic year in amounts not to exceed $5,000. |
