Job Title:   Community Engagement Manager

Description:  

The Community Engagement Manager will work in a dynamic team environment to execute UNCF's local advocacy efforts, with a focus on building community relationships and impacting the local education environment in one or more of our target advocacy cities. This role offers the benefits of working for an established organization with nearly 70 years of history in the education landscape, while also providing an entrepreneurial experience since the Manager will help establish a "start-up" department tasked with implementing a newly developed strategy.

The Community Engagement Manager reports to the VP of Advocacy and works closely with the National Director of Advocacy to implement UNCF's advocacy platform, which includes three major components:

  • Messaging and Research: Leveraging broad-based media platforms and publishing research to highlight the current state of education, motivate African Americans to strive for college degree attainment and position UNCF as a partner in this journey
  • Grasstops Partnerships: Partnering with Member Institutions, prominent organizations and leaders in the African-American community and activate them to engage in the education reform landscape and support them as they engage their communities
  • Grassroots Engagement: Supporting on-the-ground grassroots organizations as they engage African-American parents and communities locally

  • Job Title:   Sr. Research Associate (Quantitative Analyst)

    Description:  

    Supports the K-12 research activities of the Frederick D. Patterson Research Institute by designing and managing research projects associated with K-12 education reform efforts for African American students; collecting, analyzing, interpreting and presenting both quantitative and qualitative data; writing reports, briefs, brochures and other collateral pieces that convey UNCF’s position and research knowledge of relevant education reform issues; advising on results and findings and making recommendations for policy, program and development decision-making.

    Job Title:   Area Development Director-Dallas

    Description:  The Area Development Director (ADD) is responsible for establishing short and long range fundraising goals and conducting comprehensive, cost-effective annual fund-raising campaigns within his/her area of operation to support the 37 UNCF member institutions. The ADD serves as an ambassador for UNCF and is responsible for engaging donors and leveraging key relationships to ensure revenue goals are met.

    Description:  This position is responsible for managing operational aspects of the budget process to optimize financial performance. This includes analyzing ROI, diagnosing issues, identifying opportunities, executing corrections and streamlining financial and operational areas to achieve financial performance.     Job Title:   Development Director--Houston Area Office

    Description:  The Development Director assists the Area Development Director (ADD) in the implementation of action plans developed with the national office; reaches fundraising targets to support the thirty-seven (37) UNCF member institutions and serves as an ambassador for UNCF, by engaging donors and leveraging relationships to meet revenue goals. The Development Director submits solicitations and conducts other fundraising activities to maintain a high level of public awareness, regarding the importance of philanthropic donations, to support and further the mission of the organization.
