Rhonda Hooks Ashison is an area development director at UNCF.
In her previous position, she was the major gifts officer for United Way of Greater Atlanta. She was instrumental in helping to procure more than $80 million in annual campaign funds. With a strong passion for the mission, Rhonda helped promote more than 120 community programs across a 13 county region, engaging corporate, small business, community leaders, volunteers and partner agencies to increase financial resources for United Way of Greater Atlanta’s community impact fund.
With UNCF, Rhonda leverages her relationships to engage and provide strategic leadership, planning and connections with the community champions, and persons of diverse financial status. Rhonda has worked more than 10 years in investor prospect cultivation and has amassed a cumulative fundraising sales portfolio averaging over $3 million annually. Rhonda’s primary focus will be to cultivate individuals of high net worth clients and corporate partnerships in new UNCF programs, earmarking the majority of the contributions towards unrestricted, education initiatives.
Rhonda offers strong interpersonal skills, is an approachable builder of partnerships and a coachable team player. Rhonda brings to UNCF a strong sense of self direction and motivation. Rhonda’s strongest attribute is optimism, which contributes to her effectiveness, it is self-empowering and has motivated her toward achievement.
Rhonda is a native Georgian and has been married to George Ashison for 23 years.
