Student Stories: Joi Brown
Joi Brown, now a senior accounting major at Dillard University, has always wanted to become a CPA and work with the IRS. She has special interest in pursuing the auditing field and financial fraud investigation. Her dream of a college degree almost did not materialize because after three years of study, she faced a shortfall in financing her final year in school. Confused and concerned about her future, she was happy to receive news that UNCF had granted her a scholarship that would cover her needs in the final year.
On the dean’s list, Joi is a member of the National Association of Black Accountants and is serving as parliamentarian for 2015-2016. Joi will graduate this spring and plans to go to graduate school and become a CPA.
