UNCF offers several national and regional scholarships and job opportunities that close in September. Apply today!

Check out these UNCF scholarships and internships currently open for applications, and complete your application before the deadlines. Look at some of the opportunities UNCF offers high school and college students that can help you get to and through college. Visit any time to see what’s open.

You will not be considered for a scholarship, internship or program until you submit all the information and essays the application requires.

The MetLife Foundation Scholarship Fund provides need-based scholarships to qualified African American students who will be juniors in the fall of 2022 (Class of 2024) enrolled at accredited four-year HBCUs. For renewal for their senior year, students must continue to meet the specified criteria. Closes Sept. 8.

Action for Inclusivity Scholarship Program
The Action for Inclusivity Scholarship Program awards need-based scholarships to Black/African American sophomore and junior students who are enrolled full-time at accredited four-year colleges and universities, and community colleges. Closes Sept. 8.

Mrs. Joann Bashinsky Scholarship
The Mrs. Joann Bashinsky Scholarship program awards up to $27,500 to each student, each year, for four years, if the selected recipient meets the renewal requirements. Closes Sept. 8.

The LeBlanc/Baker Scholarship for Change provides renewable, need-based scholarships of up to $4,000 per year, to African American males, who are incoming college freshman, planning to attend an accredited four-year HBCU in the Fall of 2022 with preference given to District of Columbia Public School (DCPS) students. Closes Sept. 14.

Wells Fargo San Francisco Bay Area Scholars
The Wells Fargo San Francisco Bay Area Scholars Program will provide merit-based scholarships to African American undergraduate and graduate college students who attend any HBCU, and are permanent residents of one of the nine San Francisco Bay Area counties. All majors are welcome. Closes Sept. 14.

Larry Ted May Scholarship
The Larry Ted May Scholarship has been created to support a student of color who will be starting their junior year in the fall of 2022. The scholarship will award one student $9,680; $4,840 in their junior year and $4,840 in their senior year. The selected student will be awarded in the 2022-2023 academic year, and if eligible for renewal, in the 2023-2024 academic year. Closes Sept. 15.

Frederick Douglass Bicentennial Scholarship
The program awards two $10,000 scholarships each year to exceptional HBCU seniors (one female and one male) who have demonstrated high academic achievement, strong leadership skills, commitment to community service and unmet financial need. Closes Sept. 26.

Synovus Bank/Calvin Smyre Endowed Scholarship
The Synovus Bank/Calvin Smyre Endowed Scholarship will provide need-based scholarships to service-minded African American college sophomores studying in any field applicable to banking and financial services. One annual award will be designated for a student enrolled at Fort Valley State University, where Mr. Smyre serves as Chair of the FVSU Foundation. Closes Sept. 27.

JUST ADDED: UNCF Early Talent Opportunity Days
This two-day virtual internship and career fair will provide college sophomores through seniors the opportunity to hear directly from and interact with companies across multiple industries and learn about more than 200 internships and full-time job opportunities. Virtual, Sept. 28 and 29


UNCF Black Educators ScholarshipAnatomy students working with professor at Jarvis Christian College
Scholarship recipients will receive an award of $2,500 for the 2022-2023 academic year, with an opportunity to renew the award for one more year based on the availability of funds and the student must meet the eligibility criteria during the 2023-2024 academic year. Closes Sept. 29.

The UNCF General Application is used to establish an applicant pool of potentially eligible students for ongoing scholarship opportunities that are unpublished and do not require an online application. Apply by Dec. 21.
