FX Storytelling Legacy Scholarship
The FX Storytelling Legacy Scholarship honors the legacy of the legendary director, screenwriter, and producer John Singleton. These scholarships are designed to encourage and empower the next generation of fearless storytellers following John’s footsteps by pursuing a career in film or television production, directing, or screenwriting. As part of this program, four students will be selected to receive a $5,000 scholarship award during their junior year and, if eligible, an additional $5,000 during their senior year. In addition to financial support, scholars will participate in an in-person LA Immersive Experience designed to provide an inside look into the entertainment industry through immersive programming and professional engagement.
Program description
- Mentorship with a FX employee
- Professional development through The Walt Disney Company / UNCF Enhanced Corporate Scholars Program
- In-person LA Immersive Experience, where scholars are flown to The Walt Disney Studios lot in Los Angeles for a behind-the-scenes look at the television and entertainment industry.
- One-time $5,000 award, eligible for renewal during senior year
Candidate requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to pursuing a career in the entertainment industry through academic achievement, professional experience, extracurricular involvement, or independent creative work.
