Target Scholars Program Overview

Since 2021, the Target Scholars Program has awarded over $10 million in scholarships to nearly 1,000 students attending HBCUs. Target Scholars are graduating at nearly twice the national rate for Black students, with 46% completing their degrees in four years compared to 24% nationally. We anticipate that 61% of Scholars will graduate within five years.

For the 2025–2026 academic year, the program will welcome a second cohort—this time focusing on rising juniors. Scholars will benefit from a robust two-year experience that includes:

  • Financial Assistance: $5,000 scholarship per year over two years to make college more affordable.
  • College Success Coach: A dedicated coach offering consistent academic and career guidance through regular check-ins and campus visits.
  • Professional Development & Internships: Mentorship, career readiness training, internship opportunities, and graduate school entrance exam test prep designed to prepare students for early career success.
