Emerging Entrepreneur at Clark Atlanta University Supported by UNCF Scholarships

Fatima Aboeid’s dream of going to college was made possible thanks to the generosity of UNCF donors. The first-generation college student is majoring in business with a concentration in marketing at UNCF-member institution Clark Atlanta University.

She expects to graduate in May 2027.

Aboeid’s parents were born and raised in Sudan and did not have the opportunity to attend college. As one of 11 children, Aboeid understood that paying for college would be a significant challenge for her family. Scholarships were essential to making her college dream possible.

“UNCF has assisted me tremendously in my educational journey at the illustrious Clark Atlanta University,” she shared. “I would not have been able to afford to attend my dream college if it were not for UNCF.”

Aboeid is a recipient of the UNCF Georgia/Kentucky/Tennessee Scholarships and the Target Scholars Program. These awards have helped ease the financial burden of college and allowed her to focus on her education.

Aboeid is well on her way to becoming a successful entrepreneur. She currently owns Mindful Wellness Sauna, a sauna business she plans to continue growing and expanding after graduation. Her studies in marketing are helping to prepare her to turn that entrepreneurial vision into reality.

Clark Atlanta University was the perfect environment for Aboeid to pursue her ambitions. She was drawn to the university because of its distinctive culture and the “hustle and passion” she said she found throughout campus.

“Clark Atlanta allows you to be who you are while providing the resources to help you become who you strive to be,” she said.

During her freshman year, Aboeid met friends on the promenade who have become an important part of her college experience. The friendships and connections she built there are unmatched, she said.

As she looks toward graduation and the next chapter of her journey, Aboeid remains deeply grateful to the donors who helped make her education possible. “College is an experience of a lifetime,” she said. “This support motivates me and keeps me pushing toward achieving my dreams and goals.”
