Dr. Bobbie Knight

Former Alabama Power Vice President Bobbi Knight is the first woman to lead the private historically black liberal arts college.

Knight, who was vice president of Alabama Power’s Birmingham division, leads Miles after President Dr. George French, Jr., resigned to lead Clark Atlanta University.

Knight has held other executive positions and is currently the chair of the Birmingham Airport Authority Board. The University of Alabama graduate also co-chaired Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin’s transition team. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Alabama and a law degree from the Birmingham School of Law.
