Jewell Bass
Jewell Bass, formerly an event planner for one of Houston’s largest oil and gas companies for 15 years, is the UNCF Houston office’s administrative assistant.
Throughout her career, Bass has been a strong advocate and supporter of education. She has a bachelor of science degree in business education from University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She is a member of Brentwood Baptist Church, where she is an active member of the deacon wives, children’s work, cancer and wellness ministries. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Bass is the wife (35 years) of Johnnie L. Bass, Jr. (retired insurance claims manager), and they have three children, Jeranda, Jessica and Johnnie, III. For the past five years, Jeranda has been an advocate for the Houston 3rd Ward Community. Jessica, MSN, SNP-C, a PVAMU graduate, and is working and planning to open a healthcare clinic in the near future. Johnnie, a PVAMU graduate, is employed as a chemical engineer at Grundfos, USA.
