2026 UNCF Masked Ball – Houston
Presenting the inaugural UNCF MASKED Ball Houston, a premier fundraiser to replace the beloved social event – “A Mind Is…” Gala. The Ball is designed to increase awareness and financial support for UNCF’s mission, local impact, and empowering college-ready South Texas – Houston students.
Individuals, small businesses, corporations, local influencers, elected officials, and alumni intentionally come together to invest in tomorrow’s workforce as sponsors, donors, and attendees for this Fall event. More than five hundred Greater Houstonians will enigmatically light up the ballroom to ensure tomorrow’s workforce is filled with qualified and prepared college graduates from all backgrounds.
A trailblazing business leader, philanthropist, and champion for education, Michael Terry Williams brings more than 34 years of leadership, mentorship, and community service. Beginning his grocery career at age 16 as a Safeway sacker, he rose through the ranks to become H-E-B’s first African American Vice President of Operations.
Williams served on the UNCF South Texas Council from 2007 to 2022, including three years as Council Chair, helping advance UNCF’s mission and support efforts that raised more than $25 million for student scholarships. His leadership and service also extend to Sam Houston State University and the Aldine ISD Education Foundation. Known as a “Man of Many Firsts,” Williams is honored as the 2026 UNCF MASKED Ball Honoree for his outstanding leadership, philanthropy, and enduring commitment to education and creating opportunities for future generations.
