2026 UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball – Philadelphia

Joseph C. Meade, is the Senior Vice President, for Government and Regulatory Affairs at Comcast Spectacor, LLC, which is a part of Comcast NBCUniversal’s live sports and entertainment business unit comprised of the Philadelphia Flyers, Xfinity Mobile Arena, Philadelphia Wings, and Flyers Charities. Due to his stellar performance and effectiveness his focus consists of supporting the strategic direction for the future of the arena, organizational culture, and people strategies with responsibility for identifying and evaluating investment opportunities to drive organizational growth along with sustaining key relationships with the City of Philadelphia, Commonwealth of Pa., and other relevant external stakeholders. Joe serves as the Co-Chair of NHL’s Government Relations Council advocating legislative and policy developments that impact the efforts of the league to improve cultural availability and awareness of the sport of hockey with underrepresented audiences.

Before joining Comcast Spectacor, Joe has always been civically and socially engaged in the greater Philadelphia region. Mr. Meade served as the Chief of Staff to La Salle University President and Executive Director of Government and Community Affairs after a brief stint in the role of the Deputy Secretary of Community Affairs and Development for Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development which leads community development activities and programs aiding local government, community organizations, private and public businesses in the Commonwealth. Mr. Meade had the opportunity to work at the world class Philadelphia Museum of Art as its Director of Government and External Affairs amplifying its’ voice across the spectrum of legislative advocacy issues and communicating its achievements and goals. Additionally, Joe served as the Director of Government and Public Relations for the School District of Philadelphia, and as legislative director for the Honorable City Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown.

A graduate of LaSalle College High School, West Chester University, and received his Master of Public Policy and Administration from Widener University. He is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, and as a high school and collegiate student athlete, Mr. Meade was named the 1997 Catholic League Basketball Most Valuable Player, becoming the first African American in LaSalle’s rich basketball tradition to earn this honor eclipsing the school’s 1,000-point scoring record. In college, Mr. Meade continued his accomplishments on the court, being named Rookie of the Year, league MVP and a second team Division 2 All American. Joe is in the Hall of Fame for basketball exploits in high school and college.

A native Philadelphian, Mr. Meade has served on the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia Sports Congress, The Philadelphia Cultural Fund, Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, and Mural Arts Program. Joe has received the distinction being named one of the top 100 Government Relations executives by the publication City & State Pa. and was recognized as one of ten Diversity in Business award honorees by the Philadelphia Business Journal. In 2025, received the Doing Most Good Award from the Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia, and the Men Making a Difference Award from the Office of State Senator Vincent Hughes. In 2026, Joe will serve as Co-Chair for the United Negro College Funds Annual Mayors Masked Ball. Joe holds additional affiliations with the Union League of Philadelphia (Frederick Douglass Society – Treasurer), an Executive board member (Vice-chair) of the Urban Affairs Coalition, Committee of 70, West Chester University’s President’s Advisory Board, and an advisory member of the La Salle College High School Alumni Association Board of Directors. Most recently, Joe now serves as a guest lecturer to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s leadership institute centered on sharing experience and expertise in establishing placed based partnerships. Mr. Meade is the proud father of daughter, Mckenzie Camille, and husband to Dr. Dalila Simpson Meade.

Meg Kane serves as Host City Executive/CEO for Philadelphia Soccer 2026, the 501c3 non-profit organization that serves as the Local Host Committee charged with planning and executing FIFA World Cup 26™ in coordination with the City of Philadelphia. Since joining the effort in 2019, Meg has served as the liaison between the City, key partners/venues, and FIFA, focusing on the development of the City’s narrative case for hosting and the delivery of all technical responses. Now, as Host City Executive/CEO, Meg leads the operationalization of the Local Organizing Committee, which is responsible for ensuring the successful hosting of Philadelphia’s six World Cup matches, running a 40-day Fan Festival, and welcoming more than a half million visitors to Philadelphia in the summer of 2026.

Concurrent with her leadership work for Philadelphia Soccer 2026, Meg is the President and CEO of Signature 57, a strategic communications firm with special focus on hospitality, tourism, large-event strategy, as well as arts and culture.  A trusted partner to clients in Philadelphia and Washington, DC., Meg holds a B.A. from La Salle University and an M.A. in Public Relations, Crisis Communications and Political Rhetoric from the University of Maryland (College Park). She is the former Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees for La Salle University, where she served a 10-year term until 2022.
