2026 UNCF Walk for Education – New York
The UNCF New York Walk for Education brings together corporate partners, community organizations, HBCU alumni, and supporters in a shared commitment to expanding educational opportunity for students attending HBCUs. Every dollar raised helps provide scholarships, academic resources, and critical support that enables students to get to and through college. Since 1944, UNCF has helped more than 550,000 students earn college degrees while supporting its network of 37 member HBCUs. Although HBCUs represent just 3% of the nation’s colleges and universities, they continue to produce a remarkable share of Black leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, and professionals.
There are many ways to get involved. Organizations can become sponsors and demonstrate their commitment to educational opportunity while receiving meaningful recognition throughout the event. Supporters can also form fundraising teams with colleagues, friends, family, alumni, or community members and complete their walk on or around Wednesday, September 16, 2026, whether in their neighborhood, workplace, campus, or community.
Participants and sponsors are also invited to join us for a Celebration Reception on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Miru Japanese Restaurant & Listening Lounge at Pier 57 in New York City. The reception will bring together supporters, corporate partners, and community leaders to celebrate our collective impact and reaffirm our shared commitment to helping more students get to and through college.
