Dr. Veda Ramsay Stamps

Dr. Veda Ramsay-Stamps is an executive leader with 20 years of experience running and advising on fundraising strategies, board development, and high-performing nonprofit systems in support of education, housing stability, economic development, and equity-centered community development nationally. She currently serves as Regional Development Director for the Los Angeles Area Office of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), where she leads major gifts and strategic partnerships that expand educational access and student success at scale particularly on behalf of UNCF’s 37-member HBCUs.
Known for collaborative, results-oriented leadership, Veda builds high-trust coalitions across government, philanthropy, and the private sector to deliver sustainable solutions addressing homelessness prevention, health disparities, and educational equity. Her leadership blends strong relationship management with disciplined execution—translating community priorities into compelling cases for support, measurable outcomes, and enduring partnerships.
Previously, Veda served as Executive Director of the Crenshaw Family YMCA, where she led a multi-million-dollar, biophilic-designed reconstruction effort and expanded the organization’s reach through multi-layered K–12 educational services for students and families during the pandemic. She also hosted numerous community concerts, street festivals, and employment and career development symposiums that strengthened neighborhood cohesion and increased access to opportunity. In partnership with government agencies, community partners, foundations, and corporations, she developed and launched a robotics program that expanded youth exposure to STEM pathways and workforce readiness.
Veda holds a Doctorate in Global Education from the University of Southern California, a Master of Public Administration, and a Certificate in City and County Management. She is a proud member of the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society.
Her public service includes leadership roles on major federal and statewide initiatives such as Building Healthy Communities, Housing First, and the 10 x 10 Blue Ribbon Commission focused on developing 10,000 affordable and accessible homes. She also served as the Mayor’s appointed Chair of the Empowerment Zone Economic Development Committee.
Veda is the author of the acclaimed pre-teen novel Flexible Wings and a recipient of numerous honors, including the CAL Black Chamber of Commerce Women’s Leadership Award, Forty Under Forty Business Leadership Award, and Influential Women 100 – Power 25.
