Ngozi Emenyeonu
Ngozi Emenyeonu (pronounced n-GOH-zee EH-me-Ñ-yonu) is the Area Development Director for UNCF’s New Jersey Area Office. Since joining the organization in 2012, she has provided strategic leadership across the New Jersey market, overseeing the region’s signature fundraising initiatives, including the Masked Ball, the Annual Walk for Education, and the Pastors Breakfast, a key faith-based engagement campaign. In addition to her leadership role, Emenyeonu serves as a UNCF Culture Champion, helping to strengthen and promote the organization’s workplace culture, values, and employee engagement efforts.
Prior to joining UNCF, Emenyeonu served as Director of Annual Funds at Link Community School, a private middle school in Newark, New Jersey, where she led comprehensive fundraising efforts across multiple giving platforms. Her nonprofit experience also includes leadership and development roles with Independence: A Family of Services and Newark Emergency Services for Families.
A seasoned fundraising and nonprofit professional, Emenyeonu brings extensive expertise in nonprofit management, fund development, program design and evaluation, board governance, volunteer engagement, event management, and strategic communications. Throughout her career, she has successfully cultivated partnerships and developed initiatives that advance organizational missions and strengthen community impact.
Driven by a deep commitment to educational equity and economic opportunity, Emenyeonu is a passionate advocate for underserved communities and populations. Her dedication to increasing access to education and creating pathways for social mobility has been a defining focus of her professional career. Through her leadership, she continues to champion initiatives that empower students, strengthen communities, and help create a more equitable future.
Emenyeonu holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Montclair State University.
