Huston-Tillotson University and Teachworthy Partner to Expand Pathways to Texas Teacher Certification
Huston-Tillotson University (HT) has partnered with Teachworthy to provide Education students with a streamlined pathway to Texas teacher certification while earning their bachelor’s degree.
Beginning this fall, students majoring in education will have the option to pursue either a certification track through Teachworthy’s state-approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP) or a non-certification track designed for careers in education beyond the classroom.
Students who choose the certification track will be dually enrolled in both HT’s education program and Teachworthy’s EPP. The partnership allows students to complete most certification requirements before graduation, positioning them to transition more quickly into the teaching profession with both their degree and a clear pathway to certification. >>Read More

Presented annually by the Austin Under 40 Foundation, the Austin Under 40 Awards recognize and celebrate emerging leaders under the age of 40 who have demonstrated exceptional professional achievement and a deep commitment to community service throughout Central Texas. To Elevate demonstrates the legacy of Huston-Tillotson University, an HBCU (Historic Black College/University) in Austin, Texas. The exhibit tells the story of those who planted the seeds of Huston-Tillotson’s beginnings, those who carefully tended and spent their life’s energy on managing, improving, and building upon HT, as well as those who continue to pass the torch onward in the elevation of its mission.
