UNCF Congratulates Taylor on Appointment as Chair of President’s Board of Advisors of HBCUs

UNCF President and CEO Dr. Michael Lomax  issued the following media statement on the appointment of Johnny Taylor as chair of the President's Board of Advisors of HBCUs:

“I congratulate Johnny Taylor on his appointment as chair of the President’s Board of Advisors of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). I know that he will be a strong and effective advocate for HBCUs within the Trump White House and throughout the Trump administration. Johnny knows from his experience as former president and CEO of Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) that the White House Initiative on HBCUs has historically not lived up to its promise to support and invest in our nation’s HBCUs. I hope he can bring a new energy to the White House Initiative and produce results that will ensure that the Trump administration lives up to the President’s commitment to “make HBCUs an absolute priority” as he stated in the early days of his administration. I look forward to working with Johnny Taylor in this new and important role.”
