‘A Different World’ Season 2 is Coming
“A Different World” has been renewed for season 2! Felicia Pride, showrunner and executive producer, has shared that the new generation of Hillman College students are returning to campus for their sophomore year.
“It’s because of our incredible fans that we’ve received such a swift Season 2 pickup,” Pride said in a Netflix article. “You all have watched, rewatched, posted about, created content around and hosted events for our show. Your support, passion and love mean the absolute world. Of course, we left season 1 with quite a few cliffhangers that we must address in season 2.”
While there is no set release date yet for season 2, an intergenerational audience hungry for stories centering historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and their students has been raving about the show. That’s why after season 1 launched on Sept. 24, the show reached the Netflix English TV Top 10 list (currently in 4th place).
Season 2 will feature “more Hillman, more college life, more friendship, more romance, more Black joy and more HBCU greatness,” Pride shared.
While you’re waiting for season 2, go back and rewatch season 1, search for Easter eggs or, even better, begin where it all started with the original “A Different World”.
