Disney Scholars: Alexandria Whitlow
Alexandria Whitlow is a mechanical engineering student at Howard University and a member of two campus organizations:
- The National Society of Black Engineers
- Association of Mechanical Engineers
She is also the creative design consultant to the senior design project team of the university’s Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering Education. Alexandria obtained her first internship in the summer of 2015 with the California non-profit Central Valley Leaders, where she worked on logo and website design and organized and executed community service projects in various cities in the Central Valley.
The previous summer, Alexandria volunteered with the Davis Academy for Girls, a non-profit committed to the mentoring and tutoring of young African American girls. In addition to her academic and service work, Alexandria enjoys painting, drawing, dancing and playing the drums.
