“While a member of the faculty of Spelman College from 1964-75, I established its first major program in economics and directed three IBM-UNCF Summer Institutes for Teachers of Economics. In 1970, a UNCF fellowship grant helped me complete my doctoral degree. Its comprehensive mission makes UNCF a terrific model of an educational support organization.”

Recently, the Marcia L. Halvorsen Faculty Development Fund has been established at UNCF. “It gives me deep satisfaction to support the work of UNCF.”
