“As President of UNCF (United Negro College Fund), I condemn the recent attacks by Hamas terrorists on innocent Israeli civilians. UNCF is an organization dedicated to promoting education, equality and unity, and we firmly believe that violence and hatred are obstacles to progress and must be rejected. The vicious antisemitism that fueled this terrible attack should have no place in America, the Middle East or anywhere else in the world.

“Additionally, we know that Hamas is a terror organization whose values and actions are not representative of the Palestinian people. We mourn all innocent lives lost in response to this terror.

“All of us at UNCF stand committed to working across divides and with those equally dedicated to achieving peace. In today’s world, where international events carry domestic ramifications, we know that our voice carries across borders and oceans. As a community, we call for solidarity where there is divisiveness, peace where there is war, and love where there is hate.”
