Final Resource Day Session Helps Incoming Wilberforce Students Start Strong
Wilberforce University recently concluded its final New Student Resource Session marking another successful year of preparing incoming students for a smooth transition to college life.
Designed to help new students get ahead before the start of the fall semester, the New Student Resource Session program provides participants with direct access to essential enrollment services, academic resources, and campus support systems. Through the program, students complete critical steps such as course registration, financial aid processing, and academic advising while also becoming familiar with the faculty and staff who will support their success throughout their Wilberforce journey.
The orientation experience goes beyond paperwork and planning. Students can build relationships with future classmates, ask questions, and gain firsthand knowledge about campus life, helping to ease the transition into higher education.
One of the most appreciated aspects of the program is the opportunity for students to learn about scholarship awards and financial assistance before the semester begins. Early scholarship notifications allow families to better understand their financial obligations and prepare for the academic year with greater confidence.
“New Student Resource Sessions are about helping our students start strong from day one,” says Dr. Jonas Tellis, vice president of Admissions and Enrollment Management. “Students who attend a New Student Resource Session gain a head start on registration, financial aid, and building relationships with faculty and staff. By taking care of these important milestones early, they arrive on campus more confident, more informed, and better prepared to focus on academic success when classes begin.”
The annual initiative reflects Wilberforce University’s commitment to student success by ensuring new Bulldogs have the tools, information, and connections they need before the first day of class. As the University prepares to welcome the Class of 2030 this fall, the success of this year’s New Student Resource Sessions demonstrates the value of early engagement in helping students acclimate quickly and confidently to campus life.
