Find the Right Scholarship for You!
Unlike loans, which you will eventually need to pay back, scholarships and grants do not need to be repaid—and unlike work-study programs, they do not require you to hold an on-campus job while in school.
Scholarship and grants fall into two categories:
- Need-based financial aid, awarded strictly based upon your financial need
- Merit scholarships, typically awarded to students based on their academic, athletic or artistic ability
UNCF manages various scholarship programs and awards more than $100 million a year in scholarships to more than 10,000 students at more than 1,100 schools across the country, including our prestigious network of 37 member HBCUs. Learn how to find and apply for a UNCF scholarship. >> Read More
