Oakwood University Student Garners “ATTN” of Michelle Obama Foundation
First-year Oakwood University student Robert Booker II has been selected by former First Lady Michelle Obama and the Reach Higher Initiative to participate in a special program that highlights four students’ first year in college. The students will create video stories via Instagram throughout the academic year with the support of media partner “ATTN.” ATTN.com is a media company that “bridges entertainment with topical issues to explain the world around us.”
Booker, who was a UNCF 75th Anniversary Scholarship recipient, will be majoring in applied mathematics and aerospace engineering. From Maryland, Booker is a graduate of Takoma Academy, and is excited to be at Oakwood, which allows him to take advantage of all of the opportunities in the aerospace industry that Huntsville, AL, has to offer. Oakwood University is a UNCF-member institution.
The university will continue to share parts of Robert’s experience through the semester as he shares his story with the world.
