As of October 17, 2022, UNCF has transitioned from its current scholarship application system to a better, stronger, easier system. Here’s what you need to know.


Check out these UNCF scholarships and internships currently open for applications, and complete your application before the deadlines. Legacy System Applications

John W. Ruffin Endowed Scholarship
The program awards undergraduate or graduate full-time students attending Florida Memorial University (FMU) or Nova Southeastern University’s H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business & Entrepreneurship. Closes Jan 5.

VWGoA/UNCF Corporate Scholars
The VWGoA/UNCF Corporate Scholars Program, sponsored in partnership with Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., is seeking full-time enrolled juniors attending HBCUs, majoring in business, computer science, marketing, information technology and engineering, whose college experience demonstrates community service, leadership and analytical ability during their college career. Candidates will be selected to intern for summer 2023 in various locations throughout the United States. Closes Jan 9.

Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation ScholarshipBenedict College football
The Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation Scholarship will award 30 need-based scholarships, up to $3,666 per year for two years, pending satisfaction of renewal requirements. Closes Jan 9.

UNCF K-12 Education Fellowship
The UNCF K-12 Education Fellowship is a leadership and talent development initiative aimed at building a robust pipeline of high-achieving African Americans engaged in education in America. The program selects undergraduate juniors from HBCUs to participate in a 10-week summer experience that includes leadership development, a paid internship with an innovative K-12 educational organization or school, and participation in an education reform case competition. Closes Jan 9.

The UNCF/Best Buy Scholars Program is a multi-year partnership that seeks to reduce financial barriers to a college degree for low-income students with high academic and leadership promise who have significant financial need and create a pipeline of college-educated minority professionals poised to assume fulfilling careers in the consumer electronics retail industry. Closes Jan 31.

The Flyers are thrilled to work with UNCF to identify top students, who’ve honed their leadership skills on and off the ice, and to support their continuing success in college. This is a first-of-its-kind, multi-year agreement with the UNCF to award college academic scholarships to local, first-year college students who are involved with the sport of hockey. Closes Jan 9.

AAP-UNCF Internship
The AAP-UNCF Internship Program, sponsored by the Association of American Publishers (AAP), is seeking college juniors and seniors with interest in pursuing a career in the publishing industry. Candidates will be selected to intern at AAP member companies for the summer. Closes Jan 15.

Building Better Futures Grant Programtuskegee students talking
Sponsored by the American Express Foundation, the Building Better Futures Grant Program aims to support college completion and talent development of high-achieving HBCU graduates by providing grants to remove barriers as they enter the workforce. The program selects graduating seniors to receive a one-time Building Better Futures cash grant of $5,000 to assist with their post-graduation career launch transition. Closes Jan 17.

BD Scholarship
The BD Scholarship was established by Becton, Dickinson and Company in partnership with UNCF to provide a merit scholarship to current freshman, sophomores, and juniors who are enrolled full time at any UNCF-member institutions, other HBCUs, or any accredited four-year college or university during the 2022-2023 academic year. Closes Jan 18.

The Edward M. Nagel Endowed Scholarship
The scholarship is open to undergraduate students pursuing studies in business (and business related majors). This is a one time award to be disbursed in February 2023. Closes Jan 19.

PepsiCo Foundation-UNCF Bronx Women’s Initiative
In partnership with UNCF, PepsiCo Foundation has developed the PEPSICO FOUNDATION-UNCF BRONX WOMEN’S INITIATIVE  to provide need-based scholarships to female college students who maintain permanent residency in the Bronx, NY. This one-time scholarship opportunity is open to undergrad students enrolled n the fall. Closes Jan 26.
