As part of UNCF’s 80th anniversary celebration, UNCF recently announced its inaugural photography contest and scholarship: “Capture the Culture: UNCF 80th Anniversary Photo Contest.”

In celebration of UNCF’s remarkable legacy and the unique experiences at each HBCU, this contest invites students to capture and share the spirit, beauty, and pride of HBCU life through photography.

The competition will award $10,000 scholarships across several categories, to students who use their talent to “capture the culture” and showcase different aspects of HBCU life through original photographic submissions.

UNCF will use the student submissions in their efforts to tell the story of HBCUs online, on the website, in print materials and other marketing pieces.

Scholarships Details: Each year, UNCF will award scholarships to students attending a UNCF-member institution. A total of six scholarships will be awarded, at $10,000 each.

The contest is open to all full-time students enrolled in any of these UNCF-member institutions.

Fall 2024 contest submissions have been accepted, and the winners will be announced soon.

The next session will begin soon, with the next winners selected in November 2025.
