Dreams took center stage on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the UNCF “A Mind Is…”® Gala in New York City, where the unwavering commitment of 430 dedicated supporters propelled the event to remarkable success. Thanks to their incredible generosity, UNCF exceeded the event’s fundraising goal, raising over $1.1 million to empower its member historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and the talented students they serve.
Held in the city where UNCF’s powerful legacy began in 1944, the evening underscored the enduring “power of we” —the foundational belief championed by Dr. Frederick D. Patterson and Mary McLeod Bethune, that collective action fuels lasting change. The energy in the room was palpable as guests enthusiastically participated in the live auction and paddle raise, contributing an astounding $218,000 to the night’s total.
UNCF New York proudly recognized four exceptional champions for their dedication to education and community:

Nicole Pullen Ross
- Corporate Partner Award Recipient: Macy’s, accepted by Adrian Mitchell, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Macy’s, Inc.
- Leadership Award Recipients: Angela and Reginald Goins, Founders of The Reginald and Angela Goins Charity Fund
- Shirley Chisholm Award Recipient: Nicole Pullen Ross, Partner, NY Head, Private Wealth Management and Head of Sports and Entertainment Solutions, Goldman Sachs
Their partnership is invaluable to UNCF’s mission to expand educational opportunities for the next generation of leaders.

The evening was further enriched by having DeMarco Morgan, Co-Anchor, “GMA3: What You Need to Know”, and ABC News Correspondent as host, and a captivating performance by Infinity Song, the New York City-based soft rock band comprised of siblings Abraham, Angel, Israel, and Momo Boyd. The group’s tight vocal harmonies and dreamy sound created a truly transcendent experience for the attendees.
The remarkable success of the Gala directly fuels UNCF’s mission to equip more HBCU students with the resources they need to thrive in college, graduate, and become the leaders our nation needs.
UNCF extends a heartfelt thank you to the generous sponsors who made the impactful evening possible.
