Student Story: Miah Crockett

Miah hopes to use her educational experience as an engineer to assist disabled veterans.

Miah Crockett is currently an electrical engineering major at Sonoma State University and multi-year scholarship recipient of the SanDisk UNCF Scholars Program. Miah is a proven leader and dedicated to serving her community. Her volunteer experience includes her work as a middle school basketball coach and serving as a volunteer with the Special Olympics of Southern California, assisting disabled children learn and play the game of basketball. On campus, she has excelled as a member of the engineering club and Black Scholars United, among other campus activities. Inspired by her father, an Armed Forces veteran with a disability, Miah hopes to use her educational experience as an engineer to assist other disabled veterans improve their mobility and independence.
