2024 UNCF MLK Birthday Celebration – Anderson, SC
For over thirty years, the Anderson County Ministers Organization (ACMO) has hosted the annual MLK Day celebration at the Anderson County Civic Center. We will be doing so again on January 16, 2023, at 5:00 pm and invite everyone to join us! This year’s keynote speaker who embodies the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr., Mr. Christopher Singleton. Mr. Singleton is a former professional baseball player and the son of Sharonda Coleman-Singleton, who was a victim of the Mother Emmanuel Mass Shooting. Chris took the opportunity to “turn his pain to purpose” and to channel his energy in providing inspirational messages of the importance of love, unity and racial reconciliation for our world. The program is supported by funding from the business and faith community which enables us to open the event to the public free of charge.
