Michelle Moore
Michelle Fernandez Moore joined UNCF in 2002 and currently serves as the national director of foundation and corporate relations. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing national fundraising efforts aimed at raising nearly $20 million annually to support high-priority UNCF programs. During her tenure at UNCF, she has helped to secure more than $300 million to support the college and career aspirations of minority students. For the past three years, her team has been recognized as the “UNCF Division of the Year” for exceeding its annual fundraising goal.
In addition to her role at UNCF, Michelle is a local elected official, serving as a school board trustee (Place 1) for the Carroll Independent School District in Southlake, TX.
Prior to joining UNCF, she was the vice president of development for the Employment Policy Foundation (EPF), a Washington, DC-based public policy research and educational foundation that focused on workplace trends and policies. Other fundraising positions included development director at The Independent Institute; development director with Girl Scouts of Santa Clara County; and major gifts coordinator, The Leadership Institute.
Having received her bachelor of arts degree political science from Tulane University, Michelle is an active PTO executive board volunteer, a member of the National Charity League and serves as the second vice president for the Southlake Association of Gifted and Talented, a local parent association that promotes and encourages advanced academics in the Carroll Independent School District. She is also an advisory board member of the Carroll Education Foundation and serves on the grants committee to disburse nearly $100,000 in teacher grants annually. In each of the last two years, she has been recognized as the “Campus Volunteer of the Year” for Carroll Elementary (2016) and Eubanks Intermediate (2015). Recently, she was named a “Tastemaker” by Southlake Style magazine for her many contributions to the local community.
Michelle lives in Southlake, TX, a suburb of the greater Dallas-Ft. Worth area, with her husband and two children, ages 13 and 10.
