Lane College, located in Jackson, TN, is a small, private, co-educational, church-related institution that provides a liberal arts curriculum leading to baccalaureate degrees in the arts and sciences.
Lane College is a fully accredited, four-year Christian institution that offers stimulating academic engagement amid an exceptional student experience. Reimagining Educator Preparation at Lane College
Lane College is advancing a bold vision for educator preparation that honors its rich history while positioning the institution to meet the future needs of schools, students, and communities across Tennessee and beyond.
Under the leadership of Dr. Tiffany Hardrick, Assistant Professor, Director of Educator Preparation, and Department Chair, the Education Department is undertaking a comprehensive effort to strengthen enrollment, expand certification pathways, deepen community partnerships, and reaffirm Lane College’s long-standing reputation for preparing outstanding educators.
For generations, Lane College has played an important role in preparing teachers who have served schools and communities throughout the region and across the nation. Dr. Donald Comer Named 11th President of Lane College
Dr. Donald Comer has officially been named the 11th president of Lane College, a UNCF-member institution. Dr. Comer has served as interim president since 2024.
“I am honored by the Board’s confidence and grateful for the opportunity to continue serving Lane College in this capacity,” said Dr. Comer in a press release. “Over the past two years, we have built a strong foundation together. Turning Tassels, Defining Futures: Lane College Celebrates the Class of 2026
On Saturday, April 25, Lane College celebrated a defining moment as 109 students crossed the commencement stage and turned their tassels, marking both the culmination of their academic journeys and the beginning of new paths ahead. The ceremony served not only as a milestone for graduates, but as a powerful reminder to future Dragons of what is possible through dedication, resilience, and purpose.
The ceremony opened with a welcome provided by Bishop Marvin Frank Thomas, Sr., Chair of the Board of Trustees, followed by greetings from graduates and business majors: Erin Isabell, Student Government Association President; Lemanuel Turnipseed, Senior Class President; and Deroan Pinder, Highest-Ranking Graduate. >>Read More
