UNCF’s Student Professional Development Program offers conferences and training opportunities to students, designed to enhance life skill development.

Student Leadership Conference (SLC)
This multi-day in-person conference provides a framework and forum for equipping students with the skills needed to be successful interns and early career professionals. Students participating in this conference develop critical thinking skills, stronger project management abilities, and improved verbal and written communication needed to be competitive in today’s workforce.

Conference session topics have included Business Writing, Effective Networking and Professional Relationship Building, and Managing Your Digital Presence.  Conference participants also experience our Meet the Executives panel to learn first-hand strategies for success in the workplace and the pathway to C-suite and upper management level positions.

Program Impact:

• 90% of scholars “Strongly Agreed” or “Strong to Moderately Agreed” that learned skills or gained knowledge that supported their education or career goals.
  90% of scholars “Strongly Agreed” or “Strong to Moderately Agreed” helped to support the development of my professional network.

Attending this conference gave me great motivation seeing so many young, like-minded driven individuals.
