Andscape Rhoden Fellowship

The Andscape Rhoden Fellowship is a year-long program focused on the many facets of life at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), essentially posing the question: What is it like to be an HBCU student in the 21st century?

Program Description

The fellows serve as campus correspondents and produce multimedia content for Andscape including campus news and coverage from various events such as the Big East Basketball Tournament, Celebration Bowl, NCAA Final Four (men’s and women’s), NFL Draft and more. In addition, the students produce podcasts about HBCU-related content, entertainment, news, and sports.

The Andscape Rhoden Fellowship is a year-long training program for the next generation of sports journalists from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). The fellowship – established as part of Andscape’s mission to develop new voices – is open to outstanding undergraduate students at HBCUs.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior at an accredited HBCU in the semester prior to the internship and enrolled throughout fall 2026 and spring 2027.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization.

Program Dates

The approximate dates are May 31, 2027 – May 5, 2028 . The Andscape Rhoden Fellows will work 40-hours a week, for 10 weeks, in the summer (June – August) followed by a maximum of 10-hours per week during the academic year (divided into two semesters).

Location

The Andscape Rhoden Fellows will be based in Bristol, Connecticut, home of the ESPN headquarters, during the summer. They will work from their respective campuses during the academic year.
