UNCF Seattle is hosting the 20th annual Class of our 2025 UNCF Portfolio Project. High school juniors and seniors from Seattle , Vancouver and Portland are eligible to apply.
This year’s Portfolio Project program will be in person at our Seattle Central College & Warner Pacific University in Portland, Oregon.
Program Overview
The mission of the Portfolio Project is to increase the number of minority and low-income college and scholarship applicants. Our strategy is to ‘Engage, Enable, and Ensure’ that 11th and 12th grade students are equipped with the tools, access, and exposure necessary to reach their dreams and aspirations of attending universities, colleges, trade, and vocational schools.
Engage:
Since the program’s inception in 2006, the Portfolio Project has impacted hundreds of students through weekly sessions that include: Access to college admissions professionals, essay writing workshops, financial aid/financial literacy workshops, guest speakers, and mentorship from industry professionals.
Enable:
Program participants will have an opportunity to attend the annual UNCF College and Career Fair , which hosts over 1,200 attendees and provides access to a number of educational institutions (including HBCUs); STEAM panel, HBCU panel, and scholarship workshops. Additionally, eligible seniors and alumni will have an opportunity to apply for the Portfolio Project Scholarship, which ranges from $1500 – $2500
Ensure:
Over the course of the Program, UNCF has awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships to Portfolio Project participants. Over 85% of participants have been accepted in colleges and universities, many of whom are first-generation college students!
