The Coco Gauff Tennis Scholarship
Coco Gauff has once again committed to supporting HBCU student-athletes that are directly bearing the impact of increased tuition prices and balancing being both students and athletes at top universities. Developed in partnership with UNCF, The Coco Gauff Tennis Scholarship was created to provide need-based scholarships of up to $8,500 to students who compete on intercollegiate tennis teams at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (“HBCUs”). Closes May 1.
2026-2027 Cox Enterprises Scholarship Program
A need-based scholarship for students attending UNCF member institutions with preference given to students majoring in STEM. Applicants for the Cox Enterprises Scholarship must be a student in good academic and personal standing who is enrolled as a full-time, degree-seeking student at any UNCF member institution. Preference shall be given to applicants pursuing majors in the areas of STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), computer science, computer programming, or digital communications. Closes May 1.

2026-2027 Henry C. McBay Faculty Research Fellowship
The Henry McBay Faculty Fellowship is open exclusively to faculty members at UNCF member institutions. The fellowship provides up to $20,000 to support research in a field of the recipient’s choosing, including up to $15,000 for the faculty recipient. Faculty recipients may optionally designate up to $5,000 of the total award to support the work of a student researcher. Closes May 1.
2026-2027 Georgia Power Foundation Scholarship
The Georgia Power Foundation, in partnership with UNCF, has established the Georgia Power Foundation Scholarship to provide need-based scholarships to junior and senior students majoring in STEM related fields or business, and who are enrolled full-time at an HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) in the state of Georgia during the 2026- 2027 school year. Closes May 4.
2026-2027 Gantt-McColl Scholarship Fund
The Gantt-McColl Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to students from Public High Schools, who are permanent residents of North Carolina to get to and through college via an annually renewable, need-based scholarship beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Closes May 6.
2026-2027 Kieth and Serena Cockrell Scholarship
This program was established in honor of long-time HBCU and UNCF supporters Kieth and Serena Cockrell, who are passionate about education and paving the way for future leaders. Eligible applicants must be permanent residents of North Carolina and a high school senior graduating from any public, private, or charter high school in Mecklenburg County, Union County, Gaston County or Cabarrus County during this current Spring 2026 term. Closes May 6.
2026-2027 The Edward and Sandra Meyer Family Scholarship
The Edward and Sandra Meyer Family Scholarship is directed towards current talented high school seniors within the Class of 2026 from the state of New York, who will be enrolling at any accredited UNCF member institution or other accredited Historically Black College/University. Closes May 18.
2026-2027 UNCF/FedEx Scholarship Program
The UNCF/FedEx Scholarship Program is open to graduating high school seniors and first-year undergraduate students. This renewable scholarship program is funded by the FedEx Corporation and provides a need-based award up to $4,000 to eligible applicants. Closes May 18.
2026-2027 Joe Williams Music Scholarship Program
The Joe Williams Music Scholarship Program was created to help provide funding to students who desire to major in the study of music. This scholarship program is open to college juniors or seniors enrolled full-time at an accredited UNCF member institution. If you are an earlier classification (freshmen or sophomore), you must have officially declared a major in a music related discipline. Closes May 21.
2026-2027 UNCF Health Careers Scholarship Program
The UNCF Health Careers Scholarship Program for students of CSSM (Cleveland School of Science and Medicine) at John Hay High School who plan to enter the health professions. Applicants must be enrolled full-time at any UNCF member institution, other accredited HBCU, or any accredited four-year U.S. based college or university commencing fall 2026. Eligible students will receive merit-based scholarship in the Academic Year 2026-2027. Award recipients may be eligible for renewals for the subsequent years provided they continue to meet the criteria. Award recipients who may be eligible for renewals shall be notified by UNCF. Closes May 28.
2026-2027 Boulé Foundation Scholarship
The Boule’ Foundation in conjunction with the United Negro College Fund will provide annual merit-based scholarships to entering college freshmen students (Fall 2026), who attend four-year, accredited, non-profit degree-granting colleges and universities of their choice. The Boule’ Foundation Scholarship is a renewable program based on availability of funds and provided that students continue to meet the eligibility criteria. Closes May 29
