UNCF Walk for Education in New York Showcases Ongoing Support for HBCUs

On the heels of a historic year that saw a notable rise in HBCU enrollment, UNCF continues to lead in showcasing a strong commitment to supporting HBCUs and educational opportunities for all by recently hosting a successful Walk for Education event in New York City.

More than 150 walkers gathered at City Winery, located at 25 11th Avenue, on September 18 for the exciting and meaningful event. The Walk raised nearly $140,000 to support UNCF’s mission.

Participating companies walked directly from their offices to a central location, City Winery, marking a shift from traditional UNCF Walks and creating a strong sense of solidarity and support for HBCUs and their students. The Walk culminated with a celebration at the venue.

More than fifteen companies helped raise funds for students and HBCUs. The generous sponsors included Colgate-Palmolive, Wells Fargo, Ralph Lauren, Madison Square Garden Entertainment, RBC Capital Markets and Foot Locker.

Representatives from Broadway Direct, Goldman Sachs, Macy’s, SC Johnson, Schroders, VantageScore, Wellington Management and other organizations also participated.

The celebration at City Winery featured delicious food, drinks and a fantastic set by DJ Jon Quick. Awards were presented in various categories, adding to an already gratifying day.
