UNCF to Host 2nd Annual “A Mind Is…”® Smooth Jazz Concert Gala, Supporting HBCUs and Students
The second annual UNCF Richmond “A Mind Is…” ® Smooth Jazz Concert Gala is set for 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30. The event will feature renowned jazz artist Tim Bowman, a chart–topping guitarist who has a way of melding smooth jazz, gospel, soul and blues seem effortless. Master soprano saxophonist Rick Elliott will also be performing as the VIP reception artist.
Also to be recognized will be the 2022 UNCF Keeper of the Flame honorees Dr. Antionette V. Irving, Richmond City Sheriff and founder of AVI Foundation Incorporated, and the Rev. Tommy Fleming, senior pastor of First Union Baptist Church Richmond–better known in the community as the former “Tommy Gunn” of Urban One Radio and WJZV Smooth Jazz Radio. >>> Read More
