UNCF Mourns the Passing of Joe Madison
We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Radio Hall of Famer Joe ‘The Black Eagle’ Madison.
He was a friend of UNCF and historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and their students. UNCF President and CEO Dr. Michael L. Lomax was a guest on his radio program as Madison championed UNCF’s mission to support HBCUs.
Joe Madison was not only a prominent figure in the media industry but also a tireless advocate for social justice and equality. His passion for uplifting the African American community and his commitment to advancing education and opportunities for all will be greatly missed.
Throughout his career, Joe Madison demonstrated an unwavering dedication to promoting dialogue, fostering understanding, and challenging systemic injustices. His voice resonated with millions, and his impact will continue to be felt for generations to come.
