Student Stories: Julia Nichols

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to UNCF and the administrators of the Wells Fargo Scholarship Program for selecting me as one of their scholarship recipients for the 2018-2019 academic year. Not only is this a great honor for me personally, but also, inasmuch as I am a student with very limited resources available from federal financial aid, your award of $5,000 will have significant, immediate impact in helping me to meet the financial responsibilities of continuing my matriculation at Edward Waters College.

Presently, I am a senior computer information systems major. I transferred into Edward Waters College from Lincoln University (MO) in 2015. Since my arrival here I have maintained a 4.0 GPA, which I am striving to keep until I graduate. One of my academic goals is to graduate at the top of my class. After graduation I plan to pursue an advanced degree, with a long-term career goal of working in information systems/technology.

It goes without saying that having the ability, and the opportunity, to complete my education is foundational to realizing my future goals and aspirations. Organizations like UNCF help make it possible for students like me to realize our fullest potential. Thank you for investing in me and my future.
